New Delhi, Apr 21: Ahmedabad Division of Western Railway has successfully dispatched its first-ever cargo rake carrying dairy products to Jammu and Kashmir.

The shipment, loaded for Amul at Linch railway station, comprised 20 BCN wagons, with 10 wagons sent to Bari Brahmana and 10 to Anantnag. The movement generated freight revenue of Rs 24.62 lakh.

This initiative strengthens the supply chain of essential goods to remote regions. Earlier, in October 2025, the division had transported 1,350 tonnes of industrial salt from Kharaghoda to Anantnag.

These efforts further enhance trade and economic linkages between Gujarat and Jammu and Kashmir.

After successful operationalisation of the Kashmir rail link project, the state has witnessed a steady movement of passengers and goods to the region.
