NEW DELHI, July 8: Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has established Delhi Metro International Limited (DMIL), a wholly-owned subsidiary which will focus on delivering operations and maintenance, consultancy, project management and advisory services for metro, rail and urban transit projects across India and international markets.
The move is aimed at building on the expertise of over two decades in developing and operating one of the world’s most respected metro systems.
Delhi Metro stands among the world’s leading metro systems, operating a network of over 416 kilometres with more than 300 stations and serving nearly 6.5 million passenger journeys every day.
Leveraging the experience gained through planning, building and operating Delhi Metro, DMIL will support transit projects across their lifecycle, from feasibility studies and planning to implementation, testing, commissioning, operations, maintenance, asset management and capacity building.
DMIL is headed by Sanjay Jamuar as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), who has over 36 years of experience across Indian and international markets.
An ex-Indian Railways Executive and one of the early members of the Delhi Metro, he helped establish Delhi Metro’s operations and maintenance framework.
DMRC’s expertise today extends beyond the National Capital Region through operations and maintenance mandates across multiple metro systems, including Chennai Metro Phase 2 (118 km, 112 stations), Mumbai Metro Line 3 (34 km, 27 stations), Patna Metro Red Line (32.5km, 26 stations), Noida-Greater Noida Metro (29.71 km, 21 stations) and Rapid Metro Gurugram (12.85 km, 11 stations).
DMRC is also among the pioneers of driverless metro operations in India, having successfully implemented Unattended Train Operations (UTO) on two of its longest Lines- the Magenta Line and Pink Line spanning over 90 kms.
Together, these capabilities reflect DMRC’s ability to support metro networks across diverse operating environments while maintaining high standards of safety, reliability and passenger convenience.
DMIL combines consultancy, project management and operational expertise under a single platform. Its services span feasibility studies, planning and design, procurement support, construction oversight, system integration, testing and commissioning, operations and maintenance, asset management, workforce training and strategic advisory services.
DMIL offers clients a unique combination of engineering depth, operational excellence and real-world implementation experience.
Backed by DMRC’s experience in areas such as driverless operations, predictive maintenance and multimodal integration, DMIL is positioned to support transit authorities with practical, end-to-end mobility solutions. (BVI)
