Adani Airport Holdings, IHG Sign Five-Hotel Deal; Kimpton Brand To Debut In India
New Delhi, May 14: Adani Airport Holdings Limited and IHG Hotels & Resorts have signed a landmark agreement to develop five hotels across major airport-linked and high-growth destinations in India, significantly expanding hospitality infrastructure tied to the country’s rapidly growing aviation sector.
The partnership will add nearly 1,500 hotel rooms across multiple hospitality brands and also mark the India debut of Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, IHG’s globally recognised luxury lifestyle hospitality brand.
Hotels Planned Across Key Airport Cities
The new hotel portfolio will be developed across Jaipur, Navi Mumbai, Mangaluru and Thiruvananthapuram as part of Adani Airport Holdings’ larger airport city and mixed-use infrastructure projects.
The portfolio will include a Kimpton hotel in Jaipur alongside Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express properties planned within upcoming airport-linked developments.
The projects are aimed at strengthening hospitality capacity in major travel and commercial corridors witnessing rapid growth in passenger traffic, tourism and business travel.
Kimpton Hotels To Make India Entry
The agreement officially brings Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants to India for the first time.
Globally, Kimpton is known for its boutique luxury positioning, design-led hotels, chef-driven dining concepts and lifestyle-focused hospitality experiences. Its entry reflects increasing demand in India for premium experiential stays and luxury travel offerings.
The brand’s arrival also signals growing global confidence in India’s evolving hospitality and tourism market.
Airport-Led Urban Development Gains Momentum
The partnership comes at a time when airport-led urban infrastructure is emerging as a major growth segment in India.
Adani Airport Holdings is developing large airport city projects spanning nearly 663 acres across multiple locations, integrating aviation infrastructure with hotels, retail spaces, commercial hubs and lifestyle developments.
The company is positioning airports as integrated urban ecosystems designed to enhance passenger experiences while supporting long-term economic and urban growth.
Adani Group Highlights Hospitality Vision
Pranav Adani said the partnership reflects the group’s vision of creating world-class travel and hospitality destinations aligned with India’s expanding aviation ecosystem.
He noted that the collaboration with IHG represents an important step toward building integrated travel, stay and urban experiences through partnerships with leading international hospitality brands.
IHG Sees Strong Growth Potential In India
Sudeep Jain said the agreement underlines the significant opportunity in India’s hospitality sector, especially around gateway cities and airport-linked developments that are seeing rising demand from business, leisure and transit travellers.
IHG currently operates 52 hotels across six brands in India and has an additional pipeline of 98 hotels expected to open over the next three to five years.
The company sees India as one of its most important long-term growth markets amid continued expansion in aviation, tourism and urban infrastructure.
Rising Aviation Demand Driving Hospitality Expansion
The development reflects a broader trend of airports evolving into large commercial and lifestyle hubs rather than functioning solely as transport centres.
With India witnessing sustained growth in domestic travel, international tourism and airport infrastructure investment, hospitality projects linked to airport cities are expected to play a major role in shaping future urban and travel ecosystems.
