New Delhi, May 10: The Government of India has appointed Prashant Pise as the next Ambassador of India to Oman, according to an official announcement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs on Sunday.
Prashant Pise, a 1995-batch Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer, is currently serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs. He is expected to assume his new diplomatic assignment shortly.
The appointment comes at a significant time as India and Oman continue to strengthen cooperation in areas including trade, energy security, maritime partnerships, defence collaboration, and regional diplomacy in West Asia.
Oman remains one of India’s key strategic partners in the Gulf region, with strong historical ties and a large Indian expatriate community contributing to bilateral relations.
The Ministry of External Affairs confirmed the appointment in an official statement released from New Delhi on May 11, 2026.
