New Delhi, July 28: Marvell Technology has announced that it will invest USD 250 million in India over the next three years to expand its technology, talent and infrastructure footprint.
The US semiconductor company is enhancing its research and development capabilities for artificial intelligence (AI), cloud and data infrastructure technologies.
The investment includes plans to double Marvell’s India workforce over the next three years, unveil a new wing at its Bengaluru office and expand operations in Hyderabad.
The company said the expansion would reinforce its global innovation network and support the design and development of advanced semiconductor solutions for AI, cloud and data infrastructure applications.
Marvell said India has emerged as a strategic engineering hub for the company, contributing to infrastructure technologies used by leading hyperscalers and cloud providers.
The company said it would continue increasing its research and development investments while strengthening the country’s semiconductor ecosystem and engineering talent base.
The company established its Bengaluru operations in 2006 and said India has since become its second-largest R&D organisation globally.
Engineering teams across Bengaluru, Pune and Hyderabad work on advanced process technologies, including 2-nanometre and beyond, high-speed analog IP, subsystem design, software and firmware development, and end-to-end silicon development.
The company added that its India teams also contribute patents and are deploying AI tools to improve engineering productivity and innovation.
Beyond expanding its engineering operations, Marvell said it continues to collaborate with universities, startups, industry associations and government organisations to support India’s semiconductor ecosystem.
These initiatives include internship programmes, faculty development, joint research, curriculum development and mentorship for startups aligned with the company’s technology portfolio.
The company also highlighted its Marvell Scholarship for Technical and Engineering Merit (MSTEM) programme, launched earlier this year to support students pursuing electronics, electrical engineering and computer science.
Marvell said the programme received more than 7,000 applications from universities across India, with 100 students selected for scholarships that combine financial support with industry exposure in AI and semiconductor technologies. (BVI)
