New Delhi, Oct 29 (BVI) Solex Energy Limited, a leading solar manufacturer of India, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ISC Konstanz of Germany, for advanced R&D and technological collaboration in solar cell manufacturing.

The announcement was made today at a press conference in New Delhi, attended by Solex leadership, ISC Konstanz delegates, and key industry stakeholders.

Through this strategic partnership, ISC Konstanz will extend comprehensive technological support to Solex for upgrading its upcoming TOPCon cell line and adopting next-generation Rear Contact and c-Si tandem/perovskite solar technologies.

The collaboration will also enable the establishment of Solex’s dedicated in-house R&D line, backed by ISC Konstanz’s patent portfolio, driving continuous innovation and high-efficiency solar manufacturing within India.

Dr. Chetan Shah, Chairman and Managing Director of Solex Energy Limited, said: “This partnership marks a defining chapter in Solex’s journey toward technological excellence and global leadership. Under our Vision 2030, we are committed to transforming India into a hub of solar innovation with a targeted valuation of ₹1 lakh crore, a $1.5 billion investment, and 25,000 highly skilled team members driving that vision forward.

Last year, during the Renewable Energy India (REI) exhibition 2024, Solex introduced India’s first solar module powered by rectangular cells, setting a precedent for technological leadership in the country, he said.

“This year, we are once again making history by bringing one of the most advanced solar technologies to India and sustaining its legacy. Our commitment remains customer-first, ensuring we deliver the best-in-class solutions that empower communities, industries, and the nation,” Shah said.

“Our focus is not just on scaling capacity but on delivering unmatched value through efficiency, reliability, and performance. As we expand our global presence across India, Europe, and the U.S., we aim to build a future where clean, affordable energy empowers every home, business, and community. Together with ISC Konstanz, we are turning that vision into reality,” he said.

On the MoU signing ceremony, Dr. Kopeček, Radovan, Head of Department Strategy and Education, ISC Konstanz shared: “We have been steadily increasing photovoltaic efficiency while reducing costs since 2005. Our mission is to achieve research outcomes that benefit both industry and society. We set global standards, share expertise with partners and young talent worldwide, and remain driven by one ultimate goal, making clean solar energy accessible and affordable for all. Our partnership with Solex Energy brings us closer to realizing that vision and advancing a successful global energy transition.”

Under Solex’s Vision 2030, it aims to establish 10 GW of solar module and 10 GW of solar cell manufacturing capacity, setting new benchmarks in Indian solar manufacturing. (BVI)
