India’s Gross GST Collections Jump 15.4% to Over ₹2.11 Trillion in July

India’s gross Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections surged 15.4% year-on-year to more than ₹2.11 trillion in July, reflecting strong growth in both domestic transactions and import-related revenues. The collections were significantly higher than ₹1.83 trillion recorded in July 2025 and also exceeded the ₹1.95 trillion collected in June.

During the month, Central GST (CGST) collections stood at ₹39,835 crore, while State GST (SGST) contributed ₹47,881 crore. Integrated GST (IGST) emerged as the largest component, with collections crossing ₹1.23 trillion.

GST refunds also witnessed healthy growth, increasing 13.1% year-on-year to ₹29,968 crore. After accounting for refunds, the government’s net GST revenue for July stood at more than ₹1.81 trillion.

The strong tax collections indicate sustained economic activity and improved tax compliance, providing a positive boost to government revenues.
