Patna, July 4: Bihar government has extended the validity of the Bihar Industrial Investment Promotion Package (BIIPP) 2025 until December 31 this year.

“On government’s directive, Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA) has extended the package until December 2026 or until the new Bihar Industrial Investment Promotion Package 2026 comes into effect, whichever is earlier,” said an official announcement.

The package was earlier scheduled to expire on June 30 this year.

“It has been extended further in view of continued interest shown by investors,” said Cabinet Secretariat Department’s Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Arvind Kumar Chaudhary said while briefing reporters after the cabinet meeting.

The move would enable more investors to benefit from the incentives and hence, help maintain continuity of industrial investment in the state, he added.

The Bihar Industrial Investment Promotion Package 2025 was launched as part of the state government’s initiative to accelerate industrial growth and create one crore employment opportunities over the next five years.

Its objective was to attract investors to set up industries in Bihar.

The original deadline for availing the benefits of the package was March 31, 2026, which was subsequently extended to June 30, 2026 but in view of the encouraging response and growing interest from investors, BIADA has now decided to extend the package.

According to BIADA, the package offers industrial land to eligible investors for a token amount of Rs 1.

Under the scheme, investors committing Rs100 crore and generating 1,000 direct jobs will be eligible for 10 acres of free land. Investments of Rs 1,000 crore will qualify for 25 acres of free land, while investments of Rs 200 crore by Fortune 500 companies will make them eligible for 10 acres of free industrial land.

BIADA further stated that investors who do not opt for or qualify under these specific incentive categories will still be eligible to purchase industrial land at a 50 per cent discount on the prevailing BIADA land rates. (BVI)
