New Delhi, May 31: Export Duties on petrol, diesel and Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) has been reduced by the government for a fortnight with effect from tomorrow.
According to a government notification, Export Duty on petrol has been reduced to Rs 1.5 per litre, while on diesel it has been cut to Rs 13.5 per litre.
With respect to ATF, Export Duty has also been lowered to Rs 9.5 per litre.
As per a procedure, the government reviews these duties every two weeks based on prevailing international prices of crude oil and refined petroleum products.
Earlier, on May 16, the government had raised the Export Duty on petrol to Rs 3 per litre, but reduced duties on diesel and aviation fuel to Rs 16.5 per litre and Rs 16 per litre, respectively.
The export levies, comprising the Special Additional Excise Duty (SAED) and the Road and Infrastructure Cess (RIC), were introduced on March 27, this year, against the backdrop of conflict in West Asia.
