New Delhi, Feb 18 : Canadian Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation Evan Solomon will be in India to attend the AI Impact Summit here with the objective of advancing partnerships in this hi-tech sector.
Solomon, who is also the Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario, will engage with senior government officials, including Indian IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
He will also engage with leaders of prominent Indian and multinational technology companies to strengthen bilateral cooperation and promote Canada’s AI interests globally, according to a statement issued by the Canadian High Commission here.
Discussions will focus on emerging technologies such as AI, digital infrastructure and solutions, semiconductors and electronics manufacturing, as well as training for workers in digital technologies, it said.
He will also deliver an address at the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) Council Meeting at the AI Summit.
Ahead of his visit, Solomon said, “Canadian leadership in AI comes from our top talent, groundbreaking research, and dynamic innovation ecosystem. This visit places Canada’s AI strengths at the forefront—creating new opportunities for joint research, investment, and real-world solutions with the Republic of India.
“By deepening our collaboration in digital technologies, especially AI, we are laying the foundation for a stronger future, with meaningful progress and benefits for both countries.”
