Amar Chitra Katha brings story of ONGC to life in comic form

Mumbai, Dec 1 (BVI) You can now read about the extraordinary journey of government-run Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) in Amar Chitra Katha, the legendary and beloved comic series of the country.

Amar Chitra Katha, in collaboration with ONGC, has unveiled a special edition graphic novel titled ‘The Energy Superhero’, which brings to life the story of India’s “energy soldiers” in a format designed to inspire and educate the nation’s youth.

Created to mark the golden jubilee of the discovery of the Mumbai High oilfield, the comic reimagines ONGC’s professionals as modern-day heroes on a critical mission.

Through vibrant illustrations and relatable storytelling, it simplifies the entire energy value chain, from exploration and drilling to refining and transportation, illustrating how this hidden resource ultimately fuels and lights up homes across India, said a statement issued by the company.

The comic invites readers to join a group of curious children, Anne, Gaganjeet, Bhavani, and Arko on a field trip to the Subir Raha Oil Museum.

This narrative device effortlessly transports the audience into the fascinating world of energy, where complex industrial processes are reimagined with creative genius.

Within its pages, the vast Mumbai High oilfield becomes a sprawling adventure map waiting to be decoded.

For years, ONGC has been known as India’s energy lifeline.

‘The Energy Superhero’ reveals the faces behind the success, the explorers interpreting geological data, geologists braving remote terrains, drillers mastering monumental machinery, and community champions working in rain and shine.

Ensuring wide accessibility, a digital version of The Energy Superhero is available to read for free on the Amar Chitra Katha app.

This initiative aims to spark curiosity and awareness about geosciences, engineering, and environmental stewardship among children and students across India.
