Travel being redefined by Millennials, GenZ in India: Survey
New Delhi, Dec 21 (BVI) Millennials and GenZ in India are redefining travel, with the people of these categories undertaking nine out of 10 international trips in the outgoing year 2025, according to a survey.
Travel-banking fintech platform Niyo, in its annual report, has highlighted how young, digital-first and experience-driven Indians are reshaping global travel trends through smarter planning, solo exploration and cost-conscious decision-making.
“Gen Z and Millennials accounted for 9 in 10 international trips. Two-thirds of these journeys originated from Delhi, Bengaluru and Mumbai, reflecting the strong influence of India’s leading metros in outbound travel,” the report findings said.
According to the survey, Men leaned towards UAE, Thailand and UK while Women preferred destinations perceived as safe, structured, and experience-rich.
Gen Z chases vibes and affordability and Gen X chooses familiarity and comfort, the report said.
“Nearly 64% of all international trips are solo – indicating individualised decision-making and financial independence, especially among younger cohorts,” it said. (BVI)
