ICC Women’s World Cup Final: UNICEF urges people to support it to amplify child rights
New Delhi, Nov 1 (BVI) UNICEF, which associated itself with the International Council for Cricket (ICC) in relation to the ongoing Women’s Cricket World Cup, has sought support of the masses for the Final match between India and South Africa tomorrow as part of efforts to amplify the message about children’s rights.
“As both teams prepare for the finals match, we reach the culmination of an incredible journey that UNICEF has taken with the International Cricket Council (ICC) over the past several weeks — a journey that has powerfully blended the spirit of cricket with our shared promise to create equal opportunities for every child,” UNICEF said in a statement today.
“From Trophy Walks across India — led by UNICEF National Ambassadors Kareena Kapoor Khan and Ayushmann Khurrana, and joined by our inspiring Youth Advocates — to the Cricket for Good Clinics that engaged children in Guwahati, Visakhapatnam, Indore and Mumbai, this collaboration has captured hearts and minds through messages of inclusion, empowerment and equality,” it said.
“Each moment — from the ceremonial walks to the life-skills sessions — has showcased what can happen when sport becomes a platform for social change. Together, these activities have amplified the message that every child deserves the chance to dream, play and thrive,” UNICEF said.
“As we enter the final hours leading up to the championship match, we request your support — for cricket, for an exciting finals match, for UNICEF, for Team India, for children. Let’s unite our voices and social networks to celebrate this moment and drive support for children everywhere,” it said.
The global body dedicated to the welfare of children urged people to Like, share, and repost the official campaign content across your personal and professional platforms and join the conversation.
“Use this moment of national pride to remind audiences that every child everywhere deserves an equal chance to win in life,” it said.
