DPIIT signs pact with Cashfree Payments to support digital infra of StartUps
New Delhi, Aug 11 (BVI) The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), an undertaking of the Government of India, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Cashfree Payments India to strengthen digital infrastructure support for DPIIT-recognised StartUps.
The partnership aims to improve startups’ access to digital payment infrastructure, financial technology solutions and capacity-building programmes, a spokesman said.
Through the collaboration, eligible startups will receive access to secure and scalable payment and payout solutions, identity verification tools, risk-management services, preferential onboarding support and commercial benefits.
The MoU will also promote founder workshops, mentoring sessions, AI buildathons, hackathons and knowledge-sharing programmes.
These initiatives will help entrepreneurs develop capabilities in digital payments, regulatory compliance, fraud prevention, know-your-customer (KYC) procedures, cross-border transactions and emerging technologies.
By combining DPIIT’s institutional reach with Cashfree Payments’ expertise in digital financial services, the partnership is expected to help startups streamline transactions, improve operational efficiency and scale their businesses more effectively.
The collaboration is part of DPIIT’s broader effort to strengthen the Startup India ecosystem and reduce infrastructure-related barriers for emerging businesses, the spokesman said.
It is expected to support innovation-led growth by enabling startups to access reliable payment systems and specialised financial technology tools as they expand in domestic and international markets.
