New Delhi, June 02: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) today conducted searches at various facilities of the Vedanta Group in connection with charges of Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) violations.

At least four premises of the Vedanta Group were searched by the ED officials.

Vedanta, a mining and power group, is promoted by billionaire businessman Anil Agarwal.

The searches are linked to an alleged violation under FEMA, which governs foreign exchange transactions and cross-border financial dealings in India, according to reports.

Sources said the central agency initiated the investigation after examining certain financial and foreign exchange-related transactions connected to the group. However, officials have not yet disclosed specific details regarding the nature of the alleged violations.

The development comes at a time when the company remains in focus due to its business expansion plans and regulatory matters across multiple sectors, including mining, metals, energy and infrastructure.

Further details related to the investigation are expected once the Enforcement Directorate or the company issues a formal statement.
