India’s Swan Defence to build training ship for Oman Navy
Mumbai, Feb 5 (BVI) Indian shipbuilding and heavy fabrication company Swan Defence and Heavy Industries Limited (SDHI) will supply a training vessel to the Government of Oman under an order secured by it.
The vessel meant for advanced naval training and maritime operations of Royal Navy of Oman is expected to be delivered within 18 months, according to a statement issued by SDHI.
The vessel will feature a state-of-the-art navigation system, an advanced communications suite, and the capability to conduct helicopter operations.

The training vessel, measuring 104.25 m in length, will have a beam of 13.88 m and displacement of up to 3500 T, according to the statement.
It will be equipped with modern classrooms, training offices and accommodation facilities.
The ship will house an auditorium to provide a world-class learning environment at sea for up to 70 officer cadets.
