45 million tonnes of fertilizers transported by Railways this year till Nov

New Delhi, Dec 19 (BVI): Indian Railways transported 45.086 million tons (MT) of fertilizers till November 30 this year across the country as compared to 39.782 MT for the same period last year, according to officials.

The fertilizer loading in November this year was 6.664 MT as against 6.027 MT in November 2024.

According to the Railways, fertilizer loading reached 17,168 rakes till 30 November this year as against 15,369 rakes during the same period last year. The rise shows the efficient working of the railway network.

Indian Railways plays a crucial role in ensuring the timely availability of fertilizers across the country by providing reliable, large-scale and efficient transportation.

Through prioritised movement of fertilizer rakes, the Railways helps maintain uninterrupted supplies to farmers, enabling them to carry out agricultural activities without delay. (BVI)
