New Delhi, Nov 6 (BVI): Paradip will be developed into a Green Hydrogen Hub as part of Odisha’s push toward clean and sustainable energy.
There are plans for a greenfield airport in Paradip to improve air connectivity, complementing the city’s existing port and road infrastructure, said Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
The new airport is expected to facilitate business travel and attract investment in industries linked to logistics, energy, and tourism.
Speaking at the inaugural event of Bali Yatra at Cuttack in Odisha, Majhi described Paradip as the “gateway of development in eastern India” and a cornerstone of the state’s economic future. He reaffirmed the State Government’s commitment to transforming Paradip into a key hub of economic growth and cultural pride.
Describing Bali Yatra as a symbol of the courage and enterprise of Odia seafarers, Odisha CM said that the proposed new airport will soon be established in Paradip to boost connectivity, while a cruise terminal will be constructed on the Mangal River to promote tourism, with the State Government allocating Rs 500 crore for the project.
“Paradip will soon be connected not only by sea and land but also by air. It is emerging as the gateway to Odisha’s industrial and economic progress,” the Chief Minister said.
Majhi added that Paradip has already become a leading port in Eastern India and will continue to serve as a hub for industry, trade, and employment.
He revealed that the State Government plans to develop a Greenfield Airport, an industrial corridor linking Bhubaneswar, Khordha, Cuttack, and Puri, and expand tourism infrastructure across the region. (BVI)
